Biography
I've studied painting and fine art at the School of Arts Minerva
in the Netherlands, specializing in meticulous form drawing
and realistic painting. I've been painting professionally fulltime
since my graduation in 2001 and exhibited all over my native country
and abroad. In 2003 the most influential museum in my region,
the Fries Museum, added my work to their permanent collection.
In the same year I won the public prize of the Vredeman de Vries
Vormgevings Award for the project Emma. In 2004 and 2005 I was
the recipient of a scholarship by Fonds BKVB, the scholarship
for the most promising emerging artists from the Netherlands.
There is a growing interest from abroad ever since. Paintings
were
shown in New York, Florence and Amsterdam, amongst countless
other cities. Not only are my paintings in numerous major collections
in American cities like San Francisco, Chigago, Los Angelos,
Washington DC and New York, but also in European cities like
Napels, Rome, München and Amsterdam to name just a few
Closer to home I already had two shows at the Fries Museum in
my hometown Leeuwarden. I'm a member of the internationally
critically acclaimed Daily Painters Galleryand my work is
regularly shown in galleries.
I'm a master draftsman and in the recent years I build up
a good reputation in the art world. I'm determined to stay here
for the long run and you can expect a lot from me in the future.
